Based in the Pacific Northwest, Grass & Root Juice Company serves cold-pressed juice from our beloved food truck. From day one, grassroots efforts have fueled our vision.

Owner and operator Sara Johnson began juicing in 2012. Her coworkers quickly took an interest in the brilliantly colored juices that she brought into the office—so she started taking orders. After selling over 2,000 handmade juices from her cubicle, she decided it was time to follow her passion: making quick, healthy and delicious juice convenient for everyone.

After extensive research and planning, Sara submitted her business proposal to "The Lion's Den," a Seattle-based start-up contest (similar to Shark Tank) co-founded by Tom Douglas. Grass & Root Juice Company was one of six companies selected to pitch a business idea to a lineup of investors and 300 audience members. Sara was the only contestant to walk away with a handshake deal, which later turned into a formal agreement with an investor.

With the help of her father, uncle and grandpa, Sara transformed a used box truck into a fully functional food truck. In September 2016, Grass & Root Juice Company officially opened for business in downtown Seattle, surrounded by family, friends and its biggest supporters. Today, Sara and her team can be found in locations all over the Pacific Northwest, serving up freshly pressed juice for everyone.
